The Parkers' continually invest time and energy into local education needs. Two special programs they sponsor are: The Shirley Parker Reading Program where North Idaho College athletes visit area schools and read to children, and The Shirley Parker Education Center at the North Idaho Cancer Center which provides education and supportive counseling services for those living with the illness.
Parker’s community support doesn’t stop there. He is a booster club member at Coeur d’Alene Lake City and Post Falls High Schools and is a huge fan of North Idaho College, the University of Idaho and Washington State University.
When you call Parker Toyota in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, you won’t end up in a voicemail maze. There’s a place for technology in our business, but it’s not answering our telephones. Doug believes in direct communication with our customers.
Doug and those who know him will tell you that he is just "a blue jeans kind of guy." The Parker family is originally from Michigan. In the early 1970's they bought a beverage distributorship and moved to North Idaho.
"This is the most aesthetically pleasing place in the country," says Parker who has traveled the United States from Maine to California. Coeur d'Alene is more than the beauty of the mountains and rivers and lakes -- it's the people and the community pride they share."
The Parkers' have owned and operated Parker Toyota since 1983. The dealership’s performance and customer satisfaction ratings are so high that it has been awarded Toyota’s highest honor, The President’s Award, for twenty-two consecutive years. In addition, the Parker Family has worked hard to enrich the community upon which their business depends. “We are determined to let our customers know how much they are appreciated,” says Parker, “and the awards show us that we’re doing just that.”
